Astara Terminal
Construction of the Astara Terminal started in 2017, according to the agreement between the governments of Azerbaijan and Iran within the framework of the "North-South" International Transport Corridor withe purpose of accelerating regional and internationl trade.
The terminal is located in Astara, Iran, on a 35-hectare site, 1,4 km from the Azerbaijan-Iran border.
The terminal, constructed by "Azerbaijan Railways" CJSC and has been leased to Azerbaijan for 25 years.
Since 2018, transshipment operations have been conducted at the Astara terminal, and from September 2022, these operations have been managed by ADY’s subsidiary company "Astara Terminal" LLC.

-foodstuffs

Future vision:
After the completion of construction of terminal, it is planned to increase the transshipment capacity to 4 million tons annually.
Azerbaijan's Astara Terminal has been operational since May 2024 in order to ensure the rapid implementation of significantly increasing cargo loads along the North-South International Transport Corridor.
As part of the reconstruction works carried out at the terminal, the cargo warehouse was renovated according to modern standards and equipped with the necessary equipment for safe and reliable operations.
Goods arriving at the terminal are quickly transshipped and dispatched to their destinations under customs control.
